CLASSIC WEDDING AT CHATEAU LILL

James & Christine’s wedding a Chateau Lill in Woodinville, Washington was one for the books. Formerly known as Chateau De Lille, Chateau Lill is a favorite venue of mine. Their grounds have a ton to offer and can fit a variety of different aesthetics. J & C’s vision was a classic winery wedding with pale pinks, greens, and creams. The florals were incredible and adorned everything in sight. If you ask me, more florals, always more florals.

The grounds at Chateau Lill are sprawling. The outdoor spaces include a large white barn with lovely English vines climbing its sides. As well as a forested area, pond with a dock, winery, leafy archways, not to mention the cute llamas! The facade you see of the home is gorgeous too. Chateau Lill wedding costs vary but expect to pay $10k+ for a full day wedding. Their prices are on par with other venues in the area.

Both weddings I’ve photographed here have had ceremonies on the back lawn. There are natural water features for a peaceful sanctuary vibe. This area is classic and works for a variety of styles. I love how the couple stand out against the green foliage.

J & C opted to get ready onsite. Upstairs is the bridal suite with a balcony and downstairs there’s a French-inspired groom area. It’s moody and great for a tumbler of whiskey. This couple had a traditional Chinese tea ceremony where they served tea to well-respected members of their family. Typically, these members will give gifts to the couple after taking a sip of tea. I’ve always loved witnessing the heartfelt words and meaningful presents. It’s an emotional moment that beautiful to capture.

The light for their ceremony was a dream. Christine was back-lit and the sun kissed her veil while she read her vows. Their images look straight out of a film.

The meal and reception are typically held on the home’s large patio with an indoor area attached for dancing. In winter or bad weather, all events can be held with a stone fireplace for warmth. Either way, you can’t go wrong with Chateau Lill.

“Chateau Lill is truly a beautiful Woodinville paradise. It is pretty expensive, which is why we ultimately chose a Friday for a cheaper date, but it was so beautiful that I couldn’t NOT have it there! Robbie, the venue coordinator/manager was so amazing to work with and she was super responsive and extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and giving advice. So happy I got to work with Robbie and would not have wanted my wedding anywhere else!”
