Do you recognize these two? If you’ve been following my work for a few years (thank you!) then you’ve probably seen them before. But here’s a little refresher…
Adam + Kathy began in little ol’ Los Angeles but there’s so much more to how these pictures came to be. It’s a history let me tell you! Adam and I became good friends in college and it wasn’t until after we graduated that he moved to L.A. to pursue his career in film production. We were chatting one day and he told me he had a date. I checked in later and he said it went super well and that a coffee date turned into a multi-hour hangout. He even sent me pictures of this adorable lady with a darling pixie cut (obvs, she’s grown it out since then but can we talk about how jealous I am that she can pull off both long and short hair? UGH, she’s too cute.)
Anyways, they became official and their love moved fast. Moving into together, adopting two German Shepards, and becoming constants in each other’s lives. I finally had the chance to meet Kathy when they were visiting Adam’s family in Idaho three years ago at a tiny restaurant called MoonTime. Adam had warned us that we would love each other and that was 100% true. We became fast friends and now the joke is that Kathy has usurped Adam in friend ranking.
Onto the proposal: Adam called me one day asking what I was up to for Labor Day weekend. He was planning to propose to Kathy at his parent’s lake cabin in Inchelium, Washington. Serendipitously, I happened to be photographing a wedding in Eastern Washington and could pop over. Not only did Kathy say yes, but she had no idea I was there until I popped up on the dock with my camera. I stayed the weekend with them and we were able to do a proper engagement session at sunset complete with copious amounts of champagne and sparklers.
The past few years have flown by and I’m so grateful for their friendship. Congratulations you two! 2019 is going to be such a great year!
