I’ve been dying to share Brianne + Keith’s winter wedding at Mountain Springs Lodge near Leavenworth, Washington. This day was something out of my Beauty & the Beast dreams. Seriously, it was like a French chalet complete with a horse-drawn sleigh, thick snow atop all the roofs, and icicles delicately hanging beneath.
The only way around the property was by snowmobile or to trudge through the waist deep snow. Luckily, Brianne, the bride was practical and had the cutest Sorel booties underneath her dress. That fur coat you’ll see was a total coincidence too! It was a very fashionable guest’s coat and she let the bride borrow it. It made her look that much more gorgeous.
These two decided to do their portraits outside but the rest of the day was inside the lodge. The fireplace acted as a center point for all the events with the ceremony and dinner on one side, and then the reception on the other.
For you photography geeks out there – one difficult part about this space is the dark ceilings. It is a log cabin after all so I had to be strategic about lighting. Most of the time, I’m able to bounce my flash off something light colored and call it done! But with this space I needed many a light stand to spread my light everywhere while keeping the ambiance of the candle-lit room.
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy this snowy winter wedding as much as I do!
