Izzy & Porter contacted me about their Seattle backyard wedding on the coast and I thought I was dreaming. Izzy’s parents owned property on the Sound and it was the perfect place for their intimate ceremony. I absolutely love when family history plays a role in a couple’s day. This home was somewhere Izzy had been going for years and I wanted to capture every detail. The couple’s cats were able to attend even though one hid the whole time. My cat whispering didn’t work on that one! But as you’ll see below, the other was the star of the show.
Her father made the altar out of sea treasures (or as he calls it “beach trash”) that Izzy had collected over the years. He hand painted the lettering that hung on top and didn’t leave out the flags from their home country of England. In fact, their were many guests from England and all over the country as Porter’s family is primarily from the south. One thing that’s truly special about weddings is that never again will all of these people be in the same room. They are all here because they love you.

Izzy + Porter’s review: “Lynnsey is just plain wonderful to work with and an incredibly talented photographer! My husband and I both constantly worry that we are not very photogenic people and Lynnsey went out of her way to get to know us so that we felt more comfortable in front of the camera. She also has a bunch of fun tricks to get you to look “normal” and by the end of our engagement and wedding photo shoots we both started to forget that the camera was there. We also both wanted to avoid staged or posed appearing photos and Lynnsey’s tricks are gold for making photos look natural even when they are somewhat staged. Finally, she has a wonderful artistic eye, making great use of areas around our venue (which was a family home) that I never would have thought could look so gorgeous in a photo. I can’t stop looking at our photos simply because she created such beautiful works of art with a place that I’ve known for years. I’m excited to get some framed (and I’m a person who hates framing photos of herself) just to enjoy Lynnsey’s great photography every day!”
